Good Evening Everyone,
With the 2021 USA Softball season starting September 1, I thought it would be prudent to remind everyone of the Rhode Island Travel Order. Nothing has changed with Rhode Island. They are still not considered a lower-risk state. Just because our new season started does not mean the current Massachusetts Travel Order has ended.
All visitors entering Massachusetts, including returning residents, who do not meet an exemption, are required to:
Complete the Massachusetts Travel Form prior to arrival, unless you are visiting from a lower-risk state designated by the Department of Public Health
Quarantine for 14 days or produce a negative COVID-19 test result that has been administered up to 72-hours prior to your arrival in Massachusetts.
If your COVID-19 test results have not been received prior to your arrival, visitors, and residents must quarantine until they receive a negative test result.
Failure to comply may result in a $500 fine per day.
Rhode Island players and teams as well as Massachusetts teams and players returning from Rhode Island will be required to either complete the Massachusetts Travel Form and quarantine for 14 days or produce a negative COVID-19 test up to 72 hours prior to arrival into Massachusetts. Please note that this Travel Form is submitted to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts through their website and not submitted to USA Softball of Massachusetts nor any league or competition director. Softball is considered a leisure activity and therefore not eligible for any exemption under the Massachusetts Travel Order.
This is not a USA Softball of Massachusetts nor a USA Softball of Rhode Island rule. This is from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. For further information on the travel order in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, please visit www.mass.gov/MATraveler.
