At its recent Opening Day Ceremonies, Marlboro Girls Softball dedicated a special sign in honor of Charlie Callahan, late husband of long-time and current league president, Karen Callahan.  Charlie passed away in Summer 2019 after having been a fixture on the Marlboro softball fields for over 25 years, where he assisted Karen in the program’s growth and development.  Hailed as “Marlboro Girls Softball’s greatest fan,” Charlie was remembered by coaches, players and parents alike for being a true character with true character, while displaying attributes of loyalty and support that was unrivaled in the program’s 29-year history. Charlie’s wife Karen has also been an umpire herself for many years and has been instrumental in promoting JO umpires for Marlboro.  Jack and Mary Ann Moore represented NVSUA/USA at the ceremony.
