The USA Softball of Massachusetts program continues to flourish in the number of participating teams, tournaments, leagues and overall participants. The organization is proud to provide quality youth programs that are focused on the player and host some of the most elite softball in New England.

As the organization looks forward, we are reaching out to our leagues and teams in hopes that our members join us in making the recruitment and retention of umpires one of our top priorities. We have reached a critical point in which the current number of registered umpires has failed to keep pace with the increasing demand for umpire services. Our concern is that we will continue to lose pace and are routinely unable to provide officials for our recreation leagues, tournaments, showcases and Fall ball. Please help us ensure the best possible experience for our players by spreading the word about our critical need and the resources available to prospective umpires. Does your league and/or team have folks interested in becoming a USA Softball Umpire? Please let us know.

USA Softball of Massachusetts offers training at no charge to prospective umpires. There are both youth (up to age 18) and adult training courses available. Coaches, Parents, Players - past and present are encouraged to learn more about becoming a USA Softball Umpire.

Thank you in advance for your efforts in helping us spread the word!
