It is our pleasure to introduce our USA Softball of Massachusetts “Virtual Umpire Training”. USA Softball umpire training is the best available in any sports organization today.  We look forward to supporting you in achieving your umpiring goals.  Our virtual training sessions will serve as the beginning in helping you develop your umpiring skills.  The benefits of USA Softball membership include, insurance coverage, recognition award programs and continued skills development through training and mentoring. 

This complimentary course is designed to be a first stage in training new umpire candidates as well as existing softball umpires that are new to USA Softball. The training will focus on fundamentals to prepare participants for their initial USA Softball game assignments. USA Softball registration is a prerequisite for this course.

Once the course requirements have been satisfied, participants will be eligible to officiate USA Softball sanctioned events as members of USA Softball. On-field clinics and mentoring will be available through local umpire groups as well as through USA Softball of Massachusetts.

USA Softball umpires are rewarded for their years of service and expertise through the Medals Program, the National Indicator Fraternity,  and WBSC Certification. USA Softball is a premier organization with an assortment of awards programs for their umpires.
