Updated News

Updated information as of 7/9

1)  Schedule will not start until Monday, July 13

Good Morning Everyone,

This e-mail is to hopefully clear up some confusion resulting from the Governor starting Phase 3 of the reopening plan in Massachusetts on Monday July 6.

Amateur sports (both youth and adult) reopening plans have been under the Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs agency for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (EEA). This agency developed the guidance for Phase 2 with assistance from the Amateur Sports Subcommittee, which USA Softball sits on. This agency is also the agency that will develop the guidance for Phase 3.

HOWEVER, THIS GUIDANCE HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED YET AND IS NOT PLANNED TO UNTIL MONDAY JULY 6 AT THE EARLIEST. Therefore until the EEA releases the guidance for Phase 3, no games, scrimmages or tournaments are allowed. This comes from the EEA liaison & Co-Chair of the Amateur Sports Subcommittee. This liaison is the Assistant Secretary for Government Affairs & Community Relations for the EEA.

As soon as the EEA has the guidance and our subcommittee has a chance to review, we will forward it out via social media to everyone.

Sorry for the confusion, but it is out of our hands and in the hands of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts EEA.

Wayne Coe

Deputy State JO Commissioner, USA Softball MA.

2) Please remember to check the team spreadsheet and make sure your coaches names, field, address and day of the week are accurate!

3)  How we play, attendance restrictions etc...are being developed by the governors return to play task force.  Once we have them we will send them out.
