Umpires

The ASA/USA Softball umpire program is among the nation's largest officiating organizations with over 26,000 officials actively involved each year. ASA/USA Softball officials are nationally recognized as the best trained and proficient in the sport and are involved in competition starting with league play, city, state and national championships.

2019 Umpire ASA/USA Softball Umpire Registration and Background Check Information

ASA/ USA Softball Online Umpire Registration:

​In 2019, all umpires MUST register using RegisterUSASoftball.com.  RegisterUSASoftball.com is the online membership website for USA Softball. The system is operated out of the National Office in Oklahoma City, OK and support is provided by both the National Office and the Local State/Metro offices.

​If you were registered in 2017 or 2018 and chose to register through RegisterUSASoftball.com, you have a user name, password, and Member ID number.  DO NOT CREATE A NEW PROFILE.  If you don't know what it is or if you have additional questions, please contact your Massachusetts State UIC or State Commissioner.

​If you are a NEW umpire, you will create a profile, and follow the steps. 

​You may pay your registration fee with your debit/credit card OR your PayPal account. The ASA/USA Softball registration fee does not take into account any Local Umpire Board fees.  Materials (rule books, exams and other related materials) will be distributed by your local umpire board.


 

ASA/ USA Softball Umpire Background Checks

All Massachusetts ASA / USA Softball umpires must be background checked annually, and is part of the registration process.  The background check must be completed before you register as an umpire.
